419 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, New York

The first of the New York boxes we lived in.

Brick wall in the "bedroom" painted green. Window frames painted grey. Fall of 2003, the first appearance of the brown hat.

"Livingroom" wall painted with giant "FIRM", the namesake of our shortlived freelance design business.

Green "bedroom" and grey "livingroom" met up at drippy octopus. "Living French" was from the cover of a french translation record of Sarah's and sort of referred to her iminant study abroad departure to Paris. The octopus' severed tentacled was painted on the wall down by the floor. Octopuses never go out of style.

When Sarah got back, there was some more decorating. This was in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure it came off the wrapper for some chopsticks we got when we ordered delivery. The writing said "hiccup and glow". No idea where that came from or what it was supposed to mean.

We had an enormous J. Otto Seibold poster in the kitchen (that has since bit the dust thanks to being lugged all over the country), so I painted a big metallic-y bronze frame around it. The litte banner at the bottom said "419 Wythe".
